THE 24TH DECEMBER | work in progress since 1994
December 24 is one of the most important holidays in Christian culture. And for many people it is also very important where, how and with whom they spend this day: some are retreating into the circle of the family and the tradition, others try to escape both with great energy. It is impossible to ignore the particularity of this day.
Since 1994 I have been photographing wherever I spent this day. In the meantime my archive consists of over 3000 photos, on 12-24-2017,after 24 years, this project will be completed.
A part of the archive can be seen online, twenty motifs have been printed:
30 x 20 cm
photo on Aludibond
Edition: 10

The motif is exposed to a high-quality paper (Fuji Crystal DP II) using a laser exposure machine (Durst Lambda) and subsequently photochemically developed. The photo paper has an extremely wide range of colors and is archival proof for many decades: brilliant colors for 75 years. The photo is fixed with a special adhesive onto the solid aluminum support plate ( "Lumabond Pro III®"), which connects the trigger to the substrate evenly. For protection against exposure to the sun, the image is laminated with a protective film.
